The article draws attention to an opinion, present in the works of Zygmunt Gloger, particularly in his work Ojczyzna ze stanowiska chrześcijańskiego (The Homeland from the Christian Position) of a universal, though Christian character, on the course of events and on history; in which people, societies and nations are justified to exist only as long as they see a paramount perspective in their existence – of being and acting for the good of humanity. According to the author, such a universe of Polish culture is situated in Gloger’s writings on the extension of the Romantic (Neoromantic) ethos on one side, and positivist ideals, on the other side, which at the same time presents an exceptionally eclectic image of the writer from Jeżewo.Uniwer...
